Good morning my pumpkins. Weekend is coming and I'm packing. I'll be in touch posting texts and photos.  Here are the books I'm reading lately and I'm quoting some texts from them which I think are important to read:

Impossible is just a big  word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is an opinion, it a dare, is potential is temporary. It's nothing.
Journalising  is a self therapy. Try a few simple exercises to break the ice and get started:
  • Paint a self portrait with words (using two hundreds or less)
  • what are your top five favourite things?
  • write about someone who has inspired you
  • describe one of your favourite childhood memories

so come on, what stops you? Grab a pen and get started. I'll do. And then post them. Right now I'm hearing a song of Barbara Streisand. Her magic voice wanders around the room of my office and takes away all tensions.
Hmmmm keeping on....
And change takes time. Some days I really understand the need for kindness and self compassion. Other days I frantically try to push against the river, or I just break down and sob.If yoga (now a more mature practice, no flirting or disrupting) teaches me anything, it's to be flexible.

Excale ... speaking of breath, ever notice how much we hold it? It's true. Most of us don't realize that we're walking around in a constant state of fight or flight. We're so accustomed to dodging bullets that we equate our high levels of stress with normalcy. Believe it or not, there is a right and a wrong way to breathe. Rapid, shallow breathing- the way most people take their oxygen in our busy society-can lead to a host of health problems, both physical and mental. Learning to breathe properly ensures that our body is getting all the yummy oxygen it needs. How do you know you're breathing right? When you're breathing properly, your stomach, not your chest, rises slightly as you breath in. When you exhale, your stomach lowers slightly. Note: Poor posture restricts the flow of air and the rise and fall of your diaphragm. So remember your mother's nagging demands and sit up straight.

so come on and take some real breaths. you'll feel so much better after. I'm trying it during yoga. I should practise it more often.

Gilbert quotes are coming next.
xoxo
